These round grassy formations were described to us as being remnants of foundations of the homes of rulers of early Guayabo. There were a few of these foundations in the central area. There appears to be a lot of mystery associated with Guayabo National Monument. It is unlikely that the homes would have been round, and there wasn't any evidence of rulers having lived here at all. With a central location in the middle of jungle vegetation, where all roads lead right into them, the circular structures must have served a more important purpose.
